How it works

The Find My Device system allows you to remotely track and control your Android devices. The system consists of two components:

• an Android app, which you install on the devices that you want to track
• a server software, which you install on a server that you control.

After installing, you link each device to the server. The device will regularly report its current GPS location to that server. It will also check for any new commands that it should execute (for example: playing a sound, setting a password, deleting its data).
